To be clear: THIS IS NOT A NUT-UP EVENT, we are offering all of our information on the routing and schedule ofr you to do with it what you want - come ride it all, only ride parts of it, or save the route for a future date. Most riders want to come during the previously scheduled event so if you want to meet and ride with others, come then.
We only post this as an 'event' our Nut-up Page for informational purposes only. Should you have questions, or just want to shoot the breeze about the ride, we suggest talking to Samantha Bonsack who will in the rider in the region who knows the most about the routes and excursions. On a personal note, we have been dragging our feet coming to this decision but the rising fees meant that our registration costs had increased to the point that we couldn’t afford to attend our own rally if we were participants. One of the laws we made when we started this was that it if we weren’t able to pull off an epic riding vacation, EVERY TIME, we would stop. Period. And it’s not an epic if you can’t afford to go on the ride. We were deeply grateful for the sponsorship requests that we were (heavily) considering, but the bottom line came down to the fact that this spring event was becoming far more ‘commercial’ and moving away from the relaxed, friendly vibe of riding with your friends. The vibe we want to ride with, and why you wanted to ride with us in the first place.
Yes, we would do at a very high registration rate, but it would change our rider demographic to the point of feeling more like a tour rather than a riding rally. There is a BIG difference between those two and we are committed to keeping the vibe much more like good buddies getting together for a long ride rather than a commercial tour where you’re just another number.
You guys seem to be feeling the same way as our private rides have been booking up, causing for some schedule concerns around the Rally. And then, finally, a family commitment arose that was the preverbal straw on the camel’s back as it landed right in the middle of our scheduled event.
In the end, it’s always been about riding with lifelong friends that you just happened to meet here with us on one of our rides. It was never a numbers game, of either a bunch of riders or a bunch of dollars. To us, riding with others should be about riding with friends and not riding for dollars. Everything changes when you ride for dollars and, honestly, we prefer the friendships. You can contact us for private rides, the Nut-up 1000 Miles-in-a-Day Insanity Ride (bike willing), the small fall Nut-up Epic, and the always free Moab Motorcycle Meet-up as they all encompass that riding-with-friends vibe without the commercialism that kills anything cool.
So if you’d like to take advantage of the hard work we put into this route, drop us a note and we’ll share the accommodations, ideal times and exact recommended stopping points at each of the bucket list destinations and off-bike excursion info as desired.
THIS IS NOT AN EVENT - This is an open ride you can join in on.
This route cannot be recommended highly enough. It is full of some of the most diverse and geographically spectacular riding you will ever do, and it is worth every bit of effort need to make in order to ride it. It’s truly that good.
Go ahead...NUT-UP.
