My dad puts this on each year and I invite all those who would like to come and honor our fallen in this ceremony to join. it usually last about 1 hr - bag pipes, fallen soldier ceremony, singers.
For those that are interested, I will be doing a ride to the ceremony. Here are the details for that:
Ride is 150 miles and will take 3.5 hrs - plus lunch and break times (2 hrs allotted)
• Staging – 10:30a @ Maverik, Thanksgiving Point (3569 North Thanksgiving Way, Lehi, UT 84043)
• KSU – 11a
• Jump on I-15 to 800 N in Orem and head to Provo Canyon
• Go through Heber City and up to Kamas
• Lunch in Kamas @ Mirror Lake Diner – Approx stop time there will be 90 mins – lunch is not provided, you pay for your own.
• After lunch, Head to Oakley, Peoa, Wanship, around Echo Reservoir, and to Henefer
• At Henefer, we will either take the 65 to East Canyon Reservoir or jump on I-84 to Morgan – weather will dictate which route we take
• Break and gas stop in Morgan (that will be right about 100 miles from Maverik) – 20 to 30 mins
• Leave Morgan on Old Hwy Rd to Mountain Green and over Trappers Loop to Hunstville
• Follow East side of Pineview Reservoir through Eden and Liberty to the North Ogden Pass
• After the Pass, we head south on 1050 E to 2600 N, head east over to Mountain Rd to 1100 N St, 1100 N St to Monroe
For those that ride with me, they know I am never in a rush to get somewhere. This is going to be a very chill and relaxing ride to lunch and the ceremony.
Once the ceremony is over, I head down I-89 to I-15 to get back home.
